Welcome to Day 23, can’t believe I’ve made it every day so far this month. Today’s Topic Things you’ve learned that school won’t teach you
1. That parenting a child is harder than you can even imagine. There are no right answers and what works for me won’t necessarily work for you. Honestly there are no right answers and you will probably end up doing things you never thought you would. I never thought I would co sleep but with a colicky baby who didn’t sleep the first nine months of her life I was at the point I would have done anything for a couple hours so I co slept. You do what you have to do.
2. That you never really know people. There are people I thought would be in my life forever and they aren’t for various reasons and there are people who can stick by you through anything. They will surprise you by being there when you need them.
3. That most of the time your plan wont work. Sometimes things will go your way but don’t count on it. I’ve made so many plans in my head about how life will play out and maybe 1% of things work out that way. You have to go with the flow and take things as they come.
4. That you will be surprised by how strong you are when you need to be. I’ve made it through my husbands car crash, my stroke and my daughter’s incident at school and was stronger and tougher than I ever thought possible. When push comes to shove I’m strong even if I don’t believe it most of the time. Let me tell you if you don’t have children, no matter how shy or meak you might be, you will slay dragons for them if need be. That Mother instinct takes over and it’s unstoppable.
