So a few years ago I had a blog that was mainly for family to see pictures and read stories about my daughter. I also started reading blogs. Once everyone in my family joined Facebook I didn’t have a reason to keep that blog anymore so I stopped posting on it. When I got sick reading blogs was both comforting and inspirational as well as a way to stay connected to the outside world. I enjoyed seeing other peoples homes and reading about their families. About two years after the stroke I was beginning to feel isolated and wanted a way of reaching out and connecting with people. I had my family and a few friends but wasn’t able to get out of the house much. I liked blogging as a way to leave and get comments as feedback on what I was writing as well as what I read.
I got some of that through Facebook but I wanted more and a way to meet new people and to grow and meet new people. I needed more than just status updates but a way of getting my thoughts, stories and feelings out and expressed. So I started looking at more blogs and reading up on how to manage and run a blog. My title came from the fact that I was looking for a fresh start to my life. My life was in a new place that it had never been before and I was starting over in a lot of ways. Also due to our financial situation I wanted it known that any projects that I post about would be very budget friendly. That was important to me because on other blogs I would see these amazing projects and home improvements that would cost so much money and I wanted my readers to know they wouldn’t have to worry about that on my blog.
I also did hope to one day make some money from blogging. I knew it would be a long process and take time but it is something that I honestly was looking for. I don’t have any grand expectations of making a big income, book deals being able to afford everything from blogging but I hope in the future to be able to earn enough to expand this blog and have a little extra money for family trips, home projects and a little savings. I am on disability so I rely on my husbands job for the majority of everything. At some point I would like to have a little bit of money that I make on my own.
This was my first post that got any real interest. It was in my first month of posting my first year in June.
