Welcome to Day 2 of my write 31 Days Challenge. Today I’m kicking myself for not writing this post ahead of time. Today has been crazy busy and yesterday was too, so finding free time to sit down and write has been a challenge. Tonight we are hosting a sleepover with three 9 year olds and Bella for her birthday. Having just one child I’m not use to the madness of so many kids at once. She will have one maybe two friends over occasionally, but three all evening is a bit much.

I committed to challenging myself to do this challenge. I really don’t want to stop day 2. So I’m pushing through and will just not make this a real long or detailed post. So if you are just finding me through this challenge please read the rest of the weeks posts. I promise they will be better than today is.

The power of Social media in blogging

The reason for me choosing to write about social media and using it to grow your blog is because I feel that social media is such a powerful tool. That it can be the single greatest way to gain popularity and new followers on the internet.

It’s a matter of what platforms you use and the way you leverage those platforms that will determine your success as a blogger. I’m sure if you are reading my blog and if you picked to follow my 31 day writing challenge then you are probably a blogger or at least interest in social media.

I think that there is a lot to learn though when it comes to social media. Some of it is luck and just like when things go viral it happens for some people and not for others. There is also a lot of technique involved in growing your numbers and the amount of your followers that go on to your blog.

31 Days of blog growth through social media

That’s what I’m hoping to help you with through this challenge and my blog. With so much to learn and the platforms constantly changing I’m constantly learning new things. I hope to share what I learn and what works and doesn’t work for me.

I might not know everything and I know that I never will learn everything when it comes to social media. I do know that the different platforms bring in over 70% of the traffic to my blog each month. So if I want to grow my blog and I do I need to keep learning so I can drive more traffic. For me personally Pinterest is #1 and I see decent numbers from Stumbleupon and ok numbers with Facvebook.

I want to grow in each platform and know other bloggers who see good numbers with Twitter and Instagram. So I’m going to share tips and knowledge across the platforms. Remember if you have any specific questions let me know and I will pick a day to answer that question.
