I am joining up with one of my favorite blogging ladies Alex Beadon and taking part in her 7 day blogging challenge. I love her and think she’s awesome and I love challenging myself to blog more and with different ideas. So I knew I wanted to take this blogging challenge. To find out more visit her website by clicking on her name above. If you’re a blogger or want to be a blogger, it would be a great way to learn more and push yourself. Today is about who am I writing to. When I sit down to blog who do I imagine is my audience. So here it goes, day one of seven.
Honestly the fact that any of you are here reading this is kind of amazing. When I started this blog I never really could imagine people reading it. I wanted readers but who would want to read what I had to say. Apparently there are a few of you and that’s amazing and it keeps me writing which I love doing. So who am I writing for when I write a post. I know the easy answer would be to say everyone but I don’t think every type of person reads my blog. They are welcome to though. I try to be very open and inclusive as part of my mission to keep this blog positive and friendly.
When I sit down and write though I guess I have a general idea of who my audience is. Based on my blog stats and the comments I receive I know I’m writing for mostly women which is good because I’m a woman and I grew up with two sister and have a daughter. So I know girls/women better than I do men. I think most of my audience are married or would like to be married someday. They are also mothers or hope to be at some point. They probably are between 20 and 45. I write a lot of tips about life and home so that type of posts usually attract women with families. I think a good portion of my audience are bloggers or want to be bloggers.
The most important thing to me about my audience is that they feel included and that this blog is a positive place. I have been through many difficult things in my life and my blog is not one of them. I work hard to keep it that way by being kind to my readers and sharing with my readers great things I learn and posts I’ve found. I want my blog to be a place that I enjoy and that my readers enjoy.
