I got the idea for this post from Modern Mrs. Darcy which is one of my favorite blogs. She did a post called 9 Mostly little things I’m loving for Early Fall. Fall is my favorite time of year and this being a particularly stressful and hard year. I want to pause and try to focus on the good as often as I can.
1 The Great British Bakeoff
My daughter and I love this show and have watched every season. New episodes are released on to Netflix on Fridays and it’s such a great way to spend an hour together. Watching people in Britain bake sometimes well and sometimes not so well.
2 Cooler temperatures
I’m not a fan of hot weather. It’s one of the reasons we moved from Southern California to Colorado. It was too hot where we lived and we really wanted some seasons and cooler weather. It’s not winter yet but we did have one random day of snow in September which was fun.
3 More reading time
I love reading year-round and books are a big part of my life. There is just something about reading in fall though. I think it’s the cooler weather and being snuggled under a blanket with a good book. I set a goal of a hundred books and I just might hit it by the end of 2020.
4 Coffee at home
I love going to Starbucks but my budget doesn’t enjoy me going there so often. So I’ve started getting more fancy with my at-home coffee. I got some syrups to add when I make ice coffee. Even when it gets colder I love ice coffee.
5 Grocery pickup
This isn’t really a fall thing but it’s something I started doing over the summer and I love it. I love ordering our groceries and then going to pick them up. It’s so nice to just have them ready for us and put into our car. This is one thing from quarantine that I see sticking around after this pandemic is eventually over.
It’s such a simple thing but so nice and it takes me less time to quickly order online and pickup then to go in and shop. Plus fewer impulse purchases.
6. Stitch Fix
I use to do Stitch fix years ago but hadn’t gotten it in forever. Then recently I needed some new clothes so I signed up for a fix. It was so great and I loved everything in it. Especially a pair of earrings I now where all the time and a great pair of jeans. I have trouble finding jeans that fit but this pair fit perfectly. So if you need some new clothes I highly recommend you order a Stitch Fix box.
