I don’t know about you but love reading other bloggers income reports and learning how they make money and get traffic. I think it is helpful to have other bloggers income and traffic reports to read. We are all at different levels and I have learned a lot from other bloggers. I hope that my reports help other bloggers as well. August was a little slow for traffic but with the launch of my first product, I made more income than previous months. I look forward to the upcoming months, the launch of new things and creating my affiliate program.
Why do I share these monthly reports? A couple reasons
- I have loved reading other bloggers reports and still do. I learn so much from them and hope to offer the same to other bloggers. I enjoy reading reports from bloggers bigger and smaller than me. I have learned a lot from bigger and smaller blogs.
- It holds me accountable to my blog and continuing to grow my business. Even on months where my growth is smaller I still feel accountable to share
My income for August was pretty good. One of my best month ever. A big part of that was from launching my ebook. I sold quite a few copies and I’m very happy that I have heard such good feedback from those who have purchased it. I would love for you to check out my new e-book Boost your Pinterest Presence. I also had more sponsored post this month which helped my income.
Also last month I received a comment on my income report asking why I was still using Adsense. I was so glad someone asked because it reminded me that I had applied to join Mediavine. It was during the time that I moved so I was busy and distracted and never got set up. So I did at the end of July and was using Mediavine for my ads in August.
Sponsored posts: $250
affiliate income: $35
Total income: $630
Convertkit $29 – A major area I am trying to grow and improve is my email list. My list is slowly growing and getting bigger each month. A big reason I use Convertkit is that it makes it really easy to run my free email courses. These courses are the main way I grow my email list so Convertkit is important for me to have. I’m also learning to segment my list and customize the look of my emails.
Ivory mix: $10 – As much as I love photos I am just not skilled in photography so I have been using Ivory Mix to get stock photos that I use on many of my blog posts and social media. I pay $10 a month and each month I get access to a bunch of new photos to download and use. I’ve gotten photos from a few different places and find this to be the best pictures for the price I pay.
SmarterQueue $20- I had been using CoSchedule for the past couple years. I paid yearly so it wasn’t included in my monthly costs. It was time to renew and I did some research into other schedulers and found SmarterQueue. I’ve only been using it for a couple weeks now but I’m loving it. It’s an easy to use system that allows me to share great content with my followers. If you’ve been looking for a social media scheduler check it
Blogger’s Guide to Membership Site -$20- This is a great membership site. I’m a big fan of Terra from Uncork your Dork so when she put together a membership site with all her challenges and pieces of training I knew I wanted to check it out. I did the free trial and decided to invest in the subscription. I’m currently going through her training of launching a challenge. Next, I want to go through the SEO training. There is so much valuable information in this membership that the monthly cost is worth it because I need to keep learning to grow my traffic and income.
Total Expenses: $79
My Blog Traffic in August
My blog traffic wasn’t great in August. I am looking forward to the summer months finally being over and the end of the slower blog traffic months. The holiday season is where I really tend to see a rise in traffic. So I’m creating new content and upgrading old holiday content to make this year’s traffic better than before.
I like comparing my traffic month to month because I find it helpful to see if my blog is growing. It’s not always the best way to see your growth though. If you’ve been blogging for awhile it’s a good idea to compare this year’s traffic to the year before. I’ve been told that is a more accurate way to see if your blog is growing. So I compared this August to August of last year. I was happy to see that my numbers were up by quite a lot from last year. I’m going to keep working hard and in August of 2018, I will see if I’ve continued to grow.
What 3 things I’m going to do to boost traffic and income
1 I’m setting up an affiliate program for my book. Doing this should help me sell more copies and get my book seen by new people. Just need to figure out how to set it up and do it.
2. My big focus this more is creating a challenge that will hopefully help to really increase my email list and grow my blog. It’s a lot of work but I think it’s going to be a great challenge and I know it will help my readers. I look forward to launching it in the upcoming weeks.
3. To start focusing on my affiliate income over the next couple of months. I know I can make more money this way but I need to put the time and effort into doing things the right way.
To help you grow your own blogs and start making your own income I wanted to include some resources. The best way to grow your blog is to be constantly willing to learn through reading and growing your knowledge.
