Hi, and welcome to December’s traffic and income report. I made the decision to start sharing these monthly reports a few months ago. I love reading them when other bloggers do them so I gave it a shot posting my own. It’s really helped me focus more on growing my blog and paying more attention to the business side of blogging.
As I expected my January income was much lower than previous months. This is quite normal for bloggers. I am excited to start applying what I’ve been learning about growing my affiliate income. I read a great book and am starting to apply what I’ve learned to my blog so that in the upcoming months my income can increase.
Sponsored posts: $80
sponsored social media: $45
affiliate income: $10
Total income: $150
Boardbooster: $30- I spend a lot here because Pinterest accounts for at least ⅔ of my monthly traffic. I’m working towards growing my traffic more evenly across other channels. Since so much of my traffic is through Pinterest. Spending this on Boardbooster is a must.
If you are looking to really grow your traffic with Pinterest than I would check out Boardbooster and begin using it. There is a free trial and plans as low as $5 a month. Here is a post on how to use Boardbooster that I put together to help you get started.
Convertkit $29 – A major area I am trying to grow and improve is my email list. I know that since creating my own products is something I want to do I need to have a larger list and I made the switch to Convertkit from Mailchimp at the beginning of the year. It is slowly growing and getting larger month to month. A big reason I use Convertkit is that it makes it really easy to run my free email courses. These courses are the main way I grow my email list so Convertkit is important for me to have.
Elite Blog Academy $49- I am still making monthly payments for Elite Blog Academy. At some point, I plan to write up a post a review of this great course. I’ve taken a lot of courses and this has been one of my favorites. Be sure to get on the waiting list for this course. It’s only available once a year but there are great freebies when you sign up.
Total Expenses: $108
My January Blog Traffic
As I mentioned in last month’s income report my traffic reporting is a little off because I had to fix an issue with my Google Analytics. Apparently, some of my numbers were being doubled incorrectly. Which made my traffic look better than it was. So now my reporting is accurate and it shows that my traffic has dropped from December to January.
The good thing is that my traffic is now accurately reported and I can focus on growing my numbers and know they are correct. I’m also hard at work making sure that I am creating lots of great quality content which is the best way to increase my numbers.
What 3 things I’m working on to boost traffic and income
1 Keep working on improving my SEO, I am enrolled in a course to help me improve what I know about SEO. I need more of my posts to show up in searches so new readers can find me.
2. I recently purchased a book on how to make more with affiliates. After reading the book and learning a lot of tips about being an affiliate I am excited to start growing my income from being an affiliate
3. I am planning to update a few of my older posts to make them better and grow my traffic to them. As well as creating new content making better use of content I already have is important to growing my traffic and income.
To help you grow your own blogs and start making your own income I wanted to include some resources.
