I use to do monthly blog income reports posts. I find them to be not only interesting to read when other bloggers post them but also it is encouraging and motivating to make my own.
I also love sharing my blogging journey with my readers. The last income report I did was in January 2020. As we all know 2020 did not go as expected or planned. My blog traffic and income really suffered in 2020 and were so unpredictable that I just stopped doing the reports.
I’ve been blogging since 2012 and although I’m still a fairly small blog I had learned what was typical as far as ups and down with traffic and all of that went out the window with people not working out of home or traveling in 2020. It was discouraging but I stuck through it and this year things have started to come back to a regular pattern.
So I thought that I would bring back the blog traffic and blog income reports so that not only can other people hopefully learn from them but that I can motivate and encourage myself to keep growing.

BLOG INCOME report July 2021
Sponsored posts: $0
affiliate income: $18
My Products: $22
Total income: $514
After a real hit to my traffic and blog income in 2020, I’m excited to start seeing some change and things moving back to where they were in 2019. In all honesty, I thought I might be done with blogging last year because it was such a struggle.
I really enjoy blogging though and have since I started A Fresh Start on a Budget back in 2012. I’ve been a blogger for almost a decade now and that is just crazy to think about.
Being able to join Mediavine is such a great step in making money as a blogger. My ads are the majority of my income and my goal is to diversify that more in the coming year.
Growing that affiliate income year-round is one of my main goals for this new year. I want to find products and services I really love and share them with my followers in new ways.
If you are a blogger or aspiring blogger I want to help you to get to where you can start earning an income from blogging.
I’m really hoping that my blog will grow a lot this year and my traffic and income will increase.
It’s why I’m committed to sharing my not-so-good months as well as my good months because I want you to know that it’s possible to make money blogging. I don’t want you to feel like you should give up if you have months that don’t go as well as you would have liked. That blogging can be an up and down journey. It will take work and time but you can do it. I wasn’t sure if I would ever make money with my blog and I now am and you can do it too!
Summer is typically a slow time for bloggers. People are outdoing stuff and not on their computers as much so blogs are not getting visited as much. So even though I did expect it and knew it could happen my blog traffic and therefore my income is down in July.
Things will more than likely pick up through August and fully in September as school starts again and people go back to their routines.
If you are looking to start making money blogging here are ways to do just that. Earning money through blogging has been one of the best things that I have started doing.
Blogging comes with some expenses from an email provider, to hosting, to services I use to create and run my products. When you are first starting out you can usually use cheaper programs and services but as you grow your expenses will too. It’s also important to shoe my expenses in my blog income report so that if you decide to start blogging you know that there will be costs. The costs will start low and grow as your blog grows.
Canva Pro- $13
Total Expenses: $202
