I have been a big fan of reading blogging income and traffic report from many of my favorite bloggers for a long time now. I find it really interesting and I learn a lot about how other bloggers go about making money from their blogs.
I am glad that I started doing these blog income and traffic report posts the last few months. I like having posts to check back on to see where I was and how I’m doing now. As I’m doing them longer than I will really be able to compare traffic and income patterns through different seasons and times of the year.
September Income: This past month was not a real good one for either traffic or income. Since this is the reality of blogging and I want to be transparent I’m sharing the good and the bad months. September wasn’t a good month but it’s a new month and a fresh start.
My Adsense income is still low because my traffic has been low. That will hopefully be going up with my traffic increasing. I also want to look into getting more affiliate income. Some months I make affiliate income and some I don’t.
That and working on my own products is a big focus for me in the upcoming months. I know having my own products and services will grow my income at a much faster pace than relying on sponsored posts and ads.
Adsense: $10
Blogher: $100
other sponsored posts: $125
Total income: $235
Expenses:
Boardbooster: $30- I spend a lot here because Pinterest accounts for at least ⅔ of my monthly traffic. I’m working towards growing my traffic more evenly across other channels. Since so much of my traffic is through Pinterest. Spending this on Boardbooster is a must.
If you are looking to really grow your traffic with Pinterest than I would check out Boardbooster and begin using it. There is a free trial and plans as low as $5 a month.
Convertkit $29 – A major area I am trying to grow and improve is my email list. I know that since creating my own products is something I want to do I need to have a larger list and I made the switch to Convertkit from Mailchimp at the beginning of the year. It is slowly growing and getting bigger month to month.
Elite Blog Academy $49- I am still making monthly payments for Elite Blog Academy. At some point, I plan to write up a post a review of this great course. I’ve taken a lot of courses and this has been one of my favorites.
Total Expenses: $108
My September Blog Traffic
I was hoping that my blog traffic would start going up in September after being lower during the summer. That’s not what happened and it might just be that September was a continuation of the lower summer traffic. so far October is off to a decent start and I’m going to work very hard on producing good quality content and trying some new strategies for growing traffic this month.
I’m already seeing some increase in my Christmas posts from the past few years. As we get closer to the holidays these posts will see more traffic increasing my numbers each month. I plan to update these posts and images and better share them on my blog and on social media to grow them further.
What 3 things I’m working on to boost traffic and income
1 Producing some more Holiday content, these posts are Evergreen so they will continue to bring in traffic each year around the holidays.
2. Writing more in general. I have quite a few post drafts that I want to complete in my calendar for the next month. I also want to work on adding more affiliate links where appropriate.
3. Working on my income and blogging strategy for the next year. I’m taking an amazing free course that you can check out here. In the first lesson, she walks through how to plan for the next year so that is what I’m currently working on. Developing a plan and strategy for success.
To help you grow your own blogs and start making your own income I wanted to include some resources. These will hopefully help you to grow your own blogs and income reports.

Thanks for sharing this. I’m obsessed with tracking my stats as well, so I find these posts very inspiring. I’m still deciding whether or not I want to take the plunge into signing up for affiliate programs though. Good luck with your blog journey!

Thanks for sharing your income report. September was low in traffic for me as well. Its still my second month blogging so I’m expecting better results for October.
Something that worked perfectly for me was guest posting. You seriously need to put it up within your upcoming plans.
Good luck,

Thanks for sharing this honest post. I’m hoping that one day I’ll be able to post my blog’s income report. Mine is just earning few cents from Adsense. I’ll work more on earning from affiliates.

I think I might start doing these on my own blog starting next month. I’ve always loved seeing them on other blogs. It’s super inspirational and I love seeing what’s working and what’s not for others. It’s a fun way to see progress.
