Home, it’s really important to me and for me it’s where my family is. I live in San Diego county in the same town I grew up in. Part of this is because of liking the area and partly it’s because we have a lot of my family close by and they are a big help to us with Bella especially since I don’t drive. At some point I imagine we might move since it’s expensive to live here.
So this is the story of how we got to the home we are in now. We lived with people in rentals on and off for the first few years of Bella’s life. Then in 2009 we moved in with my parents to save some money. After awhile though we were ready to move out and they were ready to have their house back. I was in school at the time so we found an apartment close by campus. Problem was we couldn’t afford it, so I desperately searched for a full time job, I was part time because of school. Thinking if I could get full time we could afford it. I couldn’t find a job . I figured we’d make it work somehow and I told no one, not even my husband that I knew we were making a mistake. Our marriage was a little rocky then and I didn’t want the drama. So on February 1, 2010 we moved in to our apartment. That night I had a stroke. They can’t prove medically they are connected but I know they are. So we moved back to my parents well at least Blake and Bella did at first since I was in the hospital a month.
We then weren’t sure when we’d be able to move out again. I couldn’t work and disability doesn’t pay much. Then a few months later in June My grandma told us that her mom my great grandma owned a mobile home that no one was living in and she would rent to us. Well we pay for the spot rental and she wouldn’t take any rent from us. This made moving out possible and we’d be close to family.
Then after about a year the mobile park we live in decided people couldn’t rent anymore. You had to own the home you lived in. I panicked a bit, we have 3 pets so finding another rental would be hard plus what we were paying was way less than we would be able to find anything for. We got lucky though. My great grandma was going to leave this house to my mom in her will for my mom to sell or whatever. Well my parents didn’t need this place so they just had her transfer it to us instead of my parents.
Here are a few pictures of our house, I wish you could see it better but I can’t seem to find better photos. It’s an older home but it works for us and we can afford it which is what is really important. We are thinking of making some updates to the house depending on what we can afford in our budget but there are some updates we need to make.
