I wish I had a stylish and magazine worthy home but unfortunately I don’t. So I want to start doing some decorating around the house and I know many of you do as well in your own homes. The problem is not wanting to spend a fortune. So here are some of my favorite ideas for all under $50. Most of these are DIY projects but I really tried to pick ones I felt wouldn’t be too difficult or time consuming to accomplish. I’m not an expert at crafts so I wanted things I could actually try. I hope you enjoy these 24 budget friendly home projects.
1. An Upholstered headboard
We really need a headboard and I think making our own upholstered one will be the way to do it. I really liked this tutorial. I know there are a million tutorials out there but this one I really liked.
2. Another fun headboard Idea.
I Would have to find some used shutters and this seems a little more complicated than the upholstered headboard but it was so cute and I just had to include it.
3. A Photo holder
What an adorable way to display a family photo on a bookshelf or mantle. I’d love to make a couple of them to give as Christmas gifts for family and one for my home as well.
4. Mason Jar Flower Box
What an awesome and beautiful way to display flowers in your home. You could make it in different colors for seasons. Spring colors, fall colors, red and green for Christmas.
5. Laundry room sign
What a great way to deal with socks with no pair. I know we always have a few single socks looking for their match. Hang them up and decorate your laundry room at the same time.
6. DIY Cork Flower Vases
What a beautiful way to display flowers in your home. What an easy way to add a pop of color.

What a cute way to display photos. I love adding a pop of color to a shelf with your photos.

I think these are an adorable way to keep your cooking tools on the counter and decorate your kitchen at the same time.
10. Embroidery Hoop Memo Board
I love memo boards and this is such a cute one that can be done in so many colors and patterns.
11. Installing Floating Shelves
Need a way to store items, floating shelves are a great option.
12. $24 Pottery Barn Hack
Over at Sanity Fair she found a way to make these framed prints for only $24 a piece which is a lot better than the $156 a piece they were at Pottery Barn.
13. Quick Drop Zone
This would be perfect for our home. I can never find my sun glasses and my husband is always losing his keys. This needs to go on my to be done list.
14. DIY Ruler Growth Chart
I think this is such a great ruler to have to measure kids with. As well as a really beautiful piece of art to have in the home. It looks very rustic and would go with a lot of different color themes.
15. Wall Mounted Bookshelf
This would look really nice in a child’s room or playroom. Though you could put it anywhere to store books.
16. DIY headboard and bed frame
This is a fairly simple looking headboard for a twin size bed. Perfect for a bed in a kid’s bedroom or if you have a small bed in a guest room.
17. DIY Metal Basket Shelving
I love this idea for storing books. I think it would look great in the kitchen with cookbooks in it.
18. Fabric Covered Books
What a great way to make old books look more beautiful so that they are decoration on a table or bookshelf.
19. Magnetic board and magnets
What a really inexpensive way to have a pretty and unique magnetic board and magnets to go on it.
20. Crate Book Storage
Another wonderful way to store books, especially for a playroom or bedroom. It can be put at a low height for little ones.
21.Pebble boot Tray
I love this boot tray to keep by the door and put dirty shoes on, especially great for when there is mud. Also seems so simple to make.
22. West elm inspired Storage Box
I love how Abby took a box she loved but was $63 and made a $3 version. For only $3 you can make a bunch of boxes without spending a ton of money.
23. DIY Rope Letters
I love doing the word Eat for in the kitchen or dining room and then maybe the word love or family somewhere else in the house.
24. Washi Tape Frame
What an adorable and affordable frame. There are also so many different types of washi tape to choose from to fit any home decor and any holiday or season.
