It’s the half way point of this September Challenge and I have done almost all the daily posts, minus a couple. It excites me to know that there are new people reading my blog from finding me through the challenge and I have found a few new bloggers to read as well.
Today’s prompt- When did you start blogging and why?
Most of you, if you’ve been here before know my story but if you don’t or you are new here (welcome) here is what lead me to blogging.
It was 2010 I was 25 a young wife and mom to a 3 year old. I was working part time and going to college. Wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do but I was trying to move forward with school. I woke up on February 2nd and my life was changed forever. Sometime during the night I had suffered a pretty massive stroke. I was hospitalized for a month and it was about a year of rehab to get me to a good place. During this time I discovered reading blogs. I liked feeling connected to people through their posts and following along with them on their life journey. I had my family, my husband and a couple of friends but felt very disconnected from the world. This was due to some severe depression caused by brain trauma and going through the traumatic event of a stroke at 25 with no warning.
Eventually in 2012 After a little more than two years post stroke I felt ready to start sharing and connecting with people through my own blog. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to write about and somedays I still don’t know what I want to write about but I finally felt ready to get out there a little more.
Through now more than two years of blogging I have made connections and been strengthened by the support of bloggers and my readers. I know that I have more to give and to share and am going to continue to grow and expand this blog into something even more wonderful and inspiring.
