So how are your 2015 Goals going? We are almost done with month one of the year, can you believe it. If this is how the years going to go by it’s going to be 2016 in a blink of the eye. We are still at the beginning of the year though so I wanted to bring up goals and how we are all doing with them. I want this year to be the best year ever for myself but also for all of you reading this. So let’s evaluate how January went. For me it was a good month I set monthly goals, here are January’s. I have done pretty well with my January goals, this last week we’ve had a stomach bug going through my house so I got a little of course but once I’m back to 100% I will get right back on track.
I will set February goals as well, I want to do it as a vlog again so that I can get more practice at vlogging. That’s one of my 2015 blogging goals. I’m trying to always keep my goals fresh in my mind so that I can make choices more often that lead to meeting those goals. I wrote a post yesterday about time management here, it is also helpful with planning out how to be setting goals for the future. So let’s discuss making the most of the 11 months left this year.
I think what is most helpful is try to make just a few little choices throughout the month always keeping in the back of your mind what you want to achieve this year. Such as if weight loss is important to you this year. Try making a few small changes such as drinking more water, walking more, eating out less. Not huge changes but if you keep weight loss or health in your mind you will find yourself making better choices and that will add up.
I want to be healthier this year, losing weight being a benefit of that but the main goal is health so this month I started drinking more water and started exercising a bit. Then in February I will keep that up and try to make another change. Same thing with blogging. There are so many things I want and need to do with my blog and business and if I try to think of all I want to do it becomes overwhelming. So I make an effort to throughout the day ask myself is what I’m doing right now helping me reach my goals, if yes then awesome keep doing it. If not can I think of something I can do right now that would be helpful? Then I try to do that.
Other resources for setting goals and keeping them
I’m a big believer in setting goals and have found this goal setting method to be super helpful. It’s also helpful to set goals more often. I hope you find some of my goal setting posts to be helpful when it comes to setting your own.

Remember the year will go by quickly as they all seem to as we get older, so make the most of what time we have left this year so that next year you are in a better place and have accomplished more to get you to that new place. The time is going to pass anyway. I want to look back next year and be amazed at how much better my life in a year than it is now. So make each month count, make each week count and if possible try to make each day count.

I am not very good at setting goals however I feel like when I do try to make small changes, breaking them up into small manageable steps usually works so as not to overwhelm myself. So for instance if I want to work out more but I hate working out I usually just try going to the gym for at least 30 minutes 3 times a week. I start to see the progress and after I lose my first 10-15 I up the time I go.

You are so right with goals! In order to reach them, you have to constantly be thinking about them. And the small steps will eventually lead to the big gains! When I think about everything I need to be working on when it comes to blogging, I almost want to give up. But when I break it down into little tasks, everything seems more manageable!

I’ve definitely fallen off my health and blogging goal wagon this week! I’m not too concerned about it though, next week’s a new week and I can just start back where I left off. 🙂

At the beginning of this year, I picked a word for the year: DIFFERENT. i can’t say I’ve accomplished that much that is DIFFERENT but I certainly keep the word in mind, as the month has sped by. Sunday begins February. Last year at this time my elderly mother in law was undergoing cancer treatment. This year, she is considered as cured. We have a lot to be grateful for.

Life was so different this time of year last year. That is so very true for me. Last year this time I had my health, and a good job. This year, I am recovering from major surgery with a cancer diagnosis, and I was laid off in July. It’s important to keep and maintain goals to stay on track of where you are heading.

I love this! I’m right on track with some… not so much with others. I’m finding that my bizarre work schedule is taking more out of me than I had realized it would. (12 hour night shifts, and weird numbers of nights on/off, no rhyme nor reason). I did go to management and ask them to try to start consolidating my shifts if they can because it’s so very hard on me (plus the kids).
But, considering… doing pretty well!

I’ll attest to the fact that the years flash by faster as you age. Sometimes, I’m amazed at how many I’ve seen. Each has been packed full of activity–mental rather than physical because of my disability. Your attitude of setting goals is a good one. And we should all drink more water. 😉
