So this week is week 14 of A is for Adelaide’s weekly challenge and this week’s topic is all about weather. So here in southern California we didn’t really have much of a winter. There are so many of you out there that deal with snow and bad weather and we here are in a major drought. I wish we could have some rain here. The weather goes up and down so erratically lately. It will be nice in the 70’s then shoot up in the 90’s for a few days and then drop into the 60’s and all this will take place in a two or three week period. Although we have a lot of nice days here in California and it can be quite beautiful this drought and dry weather are horrible on my sinuses and give me and a lot of people I know chronic headaches which are frustrating.
Also in this area the weather causes really bad fire conditions. At the house I use to live in a few years ago the fire got within a couple miles and we had to pack up and evacuate. Where we live now got hit by a fire really badly and many houses in this area were burnt down. It’s not uncommon to smell the smoke from a nearby fire. We live by an area of So Cal that has a lot of fires. I know that when people in snow heavy areas are frustrated by long winters and wish for weather like we have here but there is a price to pay for hot and dry weather.
